Summer Reading Program

Children residing in the Rural Municipality of Montcalm had the chance to go on an adventure this summer when they joined the TD Summer Reading Club. Our local library, one of hundreds of libraries participating in this national program, took part in the annual TD Summer reading club in partnership with Library and Archives Canada. This dynamic program was developed and spearheaded by the Toronto Public Library and this year’s theme was …here we go!

The TD Summer Reading Club is designed to motivate your children to develop and improve their reading skills throughout the summer by various fun-filled incentives and activities. When children registered at the library for this free program, they received an exciting reading kit comprising a poster, stickers, and an activity logbook all sponsored by the Toronto Dominion Bank, the Toronto Public Library and Library and Archives Canada . Take a moment to explore their bilingual website at www.tdsummerreadingclub.ca to discover what this program offers.

Once per week, each participant had a chance to spin the colored wheel, answer a question about the book he or she had read, and pick a small prize from the special box.

The library had approximately 18 enthusiastic participants.
